Transformers II is gonna hit cinemas everywhere by tomorrow and hit the world with its marvelous scope of a man-made visual work. Simply masterpiece. I just can’t believe that today’s technology can carry out a movie like this — given the Fun Facts (indeed Breathtaking Facts to me) that Michael Bay wrote on his blog:

Robots

• 14 robots last time, 46 robots this time (ILM only)
• If you had all the gold ever mined in the history of man, you could build a little more than half of Devastator.
• Optimus Prime will be life size on IMAX screens in many forest fight shots.
• Devastator’s hand is traveling 390 miles per hour when he punches the pyramid.
• The pyramid destruction simulation was 8 times bigger than the old rigid simulation all-time record holder at ILM.
• All robot parts laid out end to end would stretch from one side of California to the other, about 180 miles
• Devastator’s parts stacked tip to tip would be as tall as 58 empire state buildings.
• If all the texture maps on the show were printed on 1 square yard sheets, they would cover 13 football fields.

Disk space

Today I want to introduce you to Fences, a desktop icon management tool that I just fall in love.

If your have read my last post, you’d notice that the icons on my desktop are a bit — OK, indeed — frustrating. Throwing things all around across my (computer) desktop has been my bad and favorite habit. Though I have tried to “organize” them (yes I do! Look closer at those screen shots and you can see there are this area for folders and that for PDFs), I have to admit it’s not easy to skim the desktop and pick the right thing at first try.

That’s why when I heard Veronica Belmont of Techzilla talk of Fences this morning, I knew the utility is just right for me.

These are advertising words from its producer, Stardock, which it is surprisingly quite right:

Thank God, unlike other Stardock’s fancy and useless applications, Fences is just simple, helpful and easy to go with. These are what I got 10 minutes after playing with Fences. (Yes, 10 minutes. It’s really easy to start using and loving this tool.)

This is what I saw when I registered at instructables.com today, they must have a really good sense of humor.

Ha ha tự nhiên giờ tôi mới nghĩ ra. Không biết có đúng không nhưng thấy thật thú vị vì khám phá nhỏ xíu của mình.

Trong post trước tôi có thắc mắc là tại sao bác Thanh lại phát biểu như vậy. Giờ thì tôi mới nhớ ra là đợt bầu cử ở Mỹ hồi đầu tháng vừa rồi quá vui, quá xôm tụ không khỏi làm cho người ta phấn chấn. Tôi cũng vậy mà.

Tôi không có hứng thú gì với mấy cái iPhone này kia nhưng hôm nay vô tình đọc bài này thấy cũng vui. Thợ VN đúng là tài tình, theo nghĩa làm cái gì cũng được: từ phá ổ khóa cho tới crack điện thoại.

Vậy là người dân thủ đô thu nhập trung bình cũng chỉ $100 năm, không biết có thủ đô ngàn năm văn vật nào nghèo bằng thủ đô của ta không — vậy mà ai ai cũng có iPhone xài mới hay chứ!

1. Tôi đang cần viết một bài luận, chắc cũng mấy tuần rồi tôi ngồi nhìn máy tính nhưng chưa viết được gì. Không phải là tôi cứ ngồi nhìn bất thần như vậy mà phần nhiều là do bị cám dỗ làm chuyện khác. (Riêng chuyện check out trang Nhiệt Huyết đã tốn khối thời gian hay ho.)
2. Tôi suy nghĩ và không hiểu tại sao mình cứ chờ nước tới chưn mới nhún. Nếu viết xong trước thì tính ra sẽ có nhiều thời gian tập trung làm những chuyện khác (mà không bị áp lực tâm lý là còn bài luận chưa viết) hiệu quả hơn. Cũng có thể dành nhiều thời gian cho byby của tôi hơn.
3. Bởi vậy nên giờ tôi nghĩ là tôi sẽ giải quyết nó nhanh thôi, chứ nhác dây dưa quá. Nhưng tôi vẫn chưa biết thế nào.
4. Vì chưa biết thế nào nên giờ tôi quyết định tắt máy (shutdown chứ không phải hibernate) rồi đi tắm. Sau khi đi tắm và relax tôi sẽ trở lên và boot vào linux. Tôi sẽ viết bài luận bằng một chương trình soạn thảo thô sơ không có chức năng kiểm tra chính tả nào đó.
5. Chừng nào viết xong tôi sẽ cho phép mình trở lại với windows hào hoa của tôi.

Hồi nào rảnh tôi sẽ cho các bạn xem các OS mà tôi đang dùng, bạn sẽ biết vì sao windows của tôi hào hoa nhứt.
